Hypnotherapy has been used for hundreds of years to help the mind, body and spirit work together. Hypnotherapy works on the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is where we hold all our emotion and permanent memory. We have an untapped resource within us. All you need to do is unlock it. Let hypnotherapy assist you with:
· Smoking
· Weight Loss
· Relaxation
· Motivation
· Regression
· Pain Management
· Anxiety
· Depression
· Phobias
· Insomnia
As a Clinical Hypnotherapist I am very keen to support people in their decisions to make positive changes in their lives. There is a misconception that the hypnotherapist controls the clients’ will. Nothing is further from the truth. A client cannot be directed to do anything against his or her will.
Let hypnotherapy assist you. It is a beautiful experience. Come and see for yourself. Talk to Bev and discuss how hypnotherapy can help you.

What is Hypnotherapy?
There has been a lot of discussion, arguments and differences over the many years that hypnotherapy has been around. That is about 200 years but there is some documentation of it being practiced much earlier.
We all know about the stage hypnotists and the command “and you will sleep deeply”. Clinical hypnotherapy is about working with the clients own internal resources.
“A person’s expectations and attitudes can obviously have profound effects on mental and physical experiences.” (Yapko, M. 2003)
The current perspective explains hypnosis as a rich system of communication. This communication takes place at the subconscious level. Clinical hypnosis has come of age through the work of the late Dr Milton Erickson, a psychiatrist, who introduced the naturalistic way of hypnosis. This works with the individual entirely, using their own creativity and diversity to solve problems at a deeper level. Worldwide people are becoming aware of the clinical and other appropriate professional uses of clinical hypnosis.
This is really working with the subconscious mind and not the conscious, critical, analytical mind. The subconscious mind holds our permanent memory plus it is the emotional part of us. Our conscious analytical mind overrides the common sense talk of the subconscious mind. An example might be, go on have another chocolate or cigarette, or don’t get so uptight, have a drink. It’s a bit like that. Clinical hypnosis is proven in treatment for anxiety, pain control and helping people to make healthier choices like diet, smoking and motivation.
In general clinical hypnosis can be a useful adjunct to more traditional medical treatments for several reasons;
· The power of the human mind
· Encouraging healthier habits
· Creating a positive attitude
Clinical hypnotherapy works with the goals and objectives of the client in a very client centred way. That way nothing is happening that the client is not aware of or in control of. Clinical hypnotherapy is a treatment to assist the client become self reliant and independent.

Habit issues, for example, smoking, nail biting etc. are usually resolved within three sessions. Having said that each person is different so there is no hard and fast rule.
Anxiety, pain management and phobias may take longer. This will be discussed with you on your first appointment.
The sessions are for one hour. Sessions are normally weekly for the first three sessions however this is dependant on how each individual person progresses. Once again this will be discussed with you during your first appointment and as part of your treatment plan.
